Who Is “ALBY DAMN”?

“Alby Damn” is Alby Pitman, a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter born and raised on the Gold Coast.
Alby is a proud member of the local surfing community… the surf and the ocean had a major influence on his lifestyle and his music.
“I am grateful to call the Gold Coast, Australia my home, I am able to do what I love and follow my passion which is creating and performing my music and connecting to the ocean and the country”.
His music can be described as a seamless blend of “New Soul Groove and Surf Rock” which encompasses the Dark and the Light of life’s experiences.
A motorcycle crash in Cambodia was a life-changing event for Alby. “I split my knee in two and it changed my whole perspective on life at the time”. Emergency surgery was necessary to mend the broken knee, and then two years of extensive rehabilitation gave Alby the opportunity to create his own unique style of songwriting and music. “My music became very important in my life; I wanted to create a positive influence through my music and push past limitations of culture and ethnicity. Positivity is the key”.
Alby Damn’s Rock ‘n Roll live shows break the barrier between artist and audience, whereby he creates an authentic connection through honesty and an adventure through his music.
“I’ve been very lucky to find the right people so early to make my path clearer than it might be. My friend Matt Lee introduced me to the surfboard brand Nuevo Camino. This changed my life in a big way as my enthusiasm for surfing went through the roof when I was gifted a board to represent. The twin fin is perfect for my style and allows me to relax and take things smooth but really fast”!
