Sweet & Smooth Cocktails That Will Have You Buzzing this World Honeybee Day

This August 21 is World Honeybee Day, and that means there’s no better time to celebrate all things honey, honeycomb and honey-inspired!

While there’s no doubt that this delicious ingredient is the true ‘liquid gold,’ what many people don’t realise is that honey is incredibly diverse and continues to inspire alcohol producers across the world, with honey now featured and incorporated into a range of spirits, wines, and even beers!

Whether it’s whiskey, tequila or vodka, honey is the perfect addition to sweeten up any drink or cocktail. So, look no further than the below cocktails to find yourself a sweet and smooth sipper to enjoy this World Honeybee Day.

THE QUEEN BEE – BY DUBLINER WHISKEY

Ingredients:

• 60ml Dubliner Whiskey & Honeycomb Liqueur
• 15ml Fresh Lemon Juice
• 10ml Sugar Syrup
• 1 Tsp Forest Berry Jam
• 3 Dashes Of Orange Bitters
• Garnish with orange twist

Method:

• Combine all ingredients and shake with ice.
• Double strain into a chilled Martini glass.
• Add garnish and enjoy!

HONEYCOMB ESPRESSO MARTINI – BY DUBLINER WHISKEY

Ingredients:

• 60ml Dubliner Whiskey & Honeycomb Liqueur
• 15ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
• 30ml Espresso
• Garnish with Honeycomb Barn or coffee beans

 

Method:

• Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker until chilled.
• Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with coffee beans or honeycomb bark.

HONEY PINEAPPLE MARGARITA – BY CAZCABEL TEQUILA

Ingredients:

• 30mL Cazcabel Honey
• 20mL Cazcabel Blanco
• 25mL Lime juice
• 25mL Pineapple juice
• 5mL Agave syrup
• Garnish with orange peel and pineapple leaf

Method:

• Shake all ingredients and strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice
• Garnish with orange peel and pineapple leaf

HONEY FIZZ – BY CAZCABEL TEQUILA

Ingredients:

• 50mL Cazcabel Honey
• Soda water
• Lemonade
• 4 Lime Wedges
• Garnish with lime wedge

Method:

• Add Cazcabel Honey over ice

• Squeeze and add the lime wedges

• Top up with soda water and lemonade, stir

TRUE NORTHWEST OLD FASHIONED – BY WESTWARD WHISKEY

Ingredients:

• 60mL Westward American Single Malt Whiskey
• 8mL Honey
• 1 pinch sea salt
• 4 dashes of bitters
• Garnish with orange peel or cherry

Method:

• Stir all items in a rocks glass
• Garnish with an orange peel or cheery

KAVKA VODKA SLIWKA – BY KAVKA VODKA

Ingredients:

• 50mL Kavka Vodka
• 25mL 30&40 Double Jus
• 15mL lemon juice
• 15mL of water mixed with honey
• 1 Spoonful of Plum Marmalade

Method:

• Put all items in a cocktail shake with ice and shake
• Strain and garnish with a flower
