Destination Tweed is thrilled to announce the 5th Tweed Artisan Food Weekend is set to go ahead from the 18th– 21st of November, after rescheduling earlier this month due to border closures and lockdowns.

The Event Management team, along with the board and members are confident the long weekend of events will inspire the community to get behind the local farmers, producers, and venues of the Tweed.

After a challenging year, the hospitality industry needs our support more than ever, events like the Artisan Weekend intend to boost the local economy by showcasing the makers and shakers of the Tweed.

Destination Tweeds Industry Development Manager Amy Colli said “We’re keen to support our local food and beverage industry to start to recover as soon as possible. The artisan weekend is a collaboration of the people and produce of the Tweed, from the farmers to the chefs to the restauranters and we are excited to play a part in opening up our beautiful region.”

The Tweed Artisan Food Weekend was created to profile the rich natural food bowl of the Northern Rivers, Bundjalung Country. A collaboration of Destination Tweed members, create bespoke food events in unique locations with the hero being the produce from across the region.

There’s pop-up picnics, long table brunches, Tweed River cruises and sunset soirees, you’ll also get a chance to meet the makers along the way. Along with traditional owners sharing their knowledge, history, and insights into the region’s native foods.

Recently awarded the ‘Outstanding Region’ Trophy in the Delicious Harvey Norman Produce Awards (shared jointly with the Gold Coast Hinterland) the Tweed region produces some of the most unique produce in Australia.

Husk Distillery Marketing Manager Harriet Messenger said, “We love being involved in the artisan weekends, it gives us a chance to collaborate with other producers and creates opportunities to further educate people of what we are growing in this stunning destination we get to call home.”

Delivered by Destination Tweed and supported by Tweed Shire Council the Tweed Artisan Food Weekend is held from the 18th– 21st November and is a long weekend full of farm fresh food and mouthwatering beverages.
