The 2023 Premier Invitational will take place on the Gold Coast from Friday 22nd September and will run through until Sunday 1st October.  Tourism Events Queensland (TEQ) and Major Events Gold Coast (MEGC) return as sponsors.

Last year 284 teams participated making this event Australia’s biggest junior football tournament, attracting an audience of 16,778 made up of players and spectators.  The 2022 TEQ event report estimated the economic benefit to Queensland to be $6.8 million.

With the Women’s FIFA World Cup being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, tournament organisers are hoping there will be an influx of female teams.  All Girl’s teams have been moved to the same venue and will be across the same 3 days.  “This should give a great female atmosphere to have all girls’ teams in the area, having previously been spread across the 9 tournament days.  Last year 42 female teams participated, which included 584 female players. Our target is to have over 100 female teams this year”.

Tournament organisers are working behind the scenes to make sure the event improves the player and spectator experience.  More information will be released on the lead into the tournament.

There is still time for teams to register and sponsors to get involved.
