23rd Street Distillery, the award-winning spirits producers, have unveiled their first-ever Australian Whisky and Whisky & Cola RTD range, boldly asserting their South Australian distillery in the global Whisky market. 

Hand-crafted to perfection; the result is a liquid masterpiece that not only celebrates local ingredients and makers, but has been a project that has been four years in the making.

Matured in 23rd Street Distillery’s historic Barrel Hall located in South Australia’s Riverland area, the warm dry summers and mild winters provide the perfect climate to create an intense, unique Whisky flavour that’s distinctly Australian.

“We invested a significant amount of time in the early stages of creating our new Australian Whisky range ensuring we could answer some very important questions; what do Australians want in Whisky and is there opportunity to insert our brand into the fiercely competitive imported Whisky category,” says Sarah Camerlengo, 23rd Street Brand Manager. 

“After discovering that 95% of Whisky available is imported, we knew our job was to challenge this and prove that we have everything we need right here on our doorstep. We set out to create a Whisky that’s designed to be savoured and enjoyed in the same climate as it’s matured in, and this is exactly what we’ve achieved with these new products. .”

The perfect representation of what 23rd Street sets out to do as a distillery; innovate with unparalleled craftsmanship, 23rd Street Australian Whisky is matured on-site for a minimum of two years in charred oak barrels to deliver an intensified flavour profile that shapes every drop. 

With a glinting golden amber colour, rounded malt flavours and rich honey characters are evident on the palate, with toasty oak and oily nuttiness to finish. The new Australian Whisky range celebrates the bold spirit of Australia.

The 23rd Street Australian Whisky range includes:

Australian Whisky – 40% – 700mL
Aromas reveal citrus, orange blossom and caramelised fruit. On the palate, sweet oils and biscuity malt are framed by vanillin oak. Dark chocolate spice, roasted nut and toffee notes unfold toward a lingering, creamy finish. Enjoy over ice, in a cocktail or with Cola, and paired with scorched almonds or an excellent Australian aged hard cheese.

Australian Whisky & Cola – 5% and 8% variations – 375mL
The full, malty flavours of 23rd Street Australian Whisky are blended with classically refreshing cola, ready for you to take anywhere. Enticing aromas of spice and citrus are followed by satisfyingly full flavours of oak, vanilla and toffee warmth. The 8% is a whisky-dominant blend, crafted to be savoured when you seek a bolder expression of spirit.
