Waterfront restaurant, Anchor Buoy, has been refurbished and reopened with a refreshed menu following its acquisition last year by Sanctuary Cove Resort owner Mulpha.

Anchor Buoy makes the most of its great seaside location beside the Sanctuary Cove marina with a simple, fresh menu overseen by Mark Marshall, Mulpha’s Executive Chef Queensland. The new menu includes crumbed snapper schnitzel, roast scallops with chorizo crumble and garlic butter, and cold smoked chicken salad, and of course the perennial favourite, Anchor Buoy fish n’ chips.

“Our aim is to reflect the spirit of Sanctuary Cove, providing great food and service at unpretentious prices for locals, boaties and tourists alike, whether they are popping in for a quick bite or relaxing in the sea breeze with a nice cool drink,” said Mark Marshall.

Sean Robertson, Mulpha’s Regional General Manager for Queensland (previously with InterContinental Sanctuary Cove), is overseeing the launch and working closely with the team to create the next iconic Sanctuary Cove hospitality venue.

Sean Robertson said the acquisition, refurbishment and fresh seaside inspired menu was all part of Mulpha’s investment in making Sanctuary Cove a great place to live and visit.

“We know how important great food and drink venues are for Sanctuary Cove residents, visitors and other local businesses, and we wanted to create a venue that is open for lunch as well as dinner that showcases exceptional food and service.

“Anchor Buoy joins our Ioesco restaurant, and the Sanctuary Cove Tavern, as iconic local venues we are investing in to create a contemporary food and beverage scene that helps make Sanctuary Cove a great place to live and international tourist destination.”

Mulpha recently completed the acquisition of the Capri Via Roma shopping centre on The Isle of Capri, Gold Coast, acquiring the Edgewater Restaurant and Fish Emporium businesses to operate the two signature restaurants in the Centre.

Mulpha has a strong commitment in Australia’s hospitality sector, and Anchor Buoy is part of its growing hospitality portfolio. This includes Bimbadgen winery and its award-winning Esca restaurant, wedding venue Palmers Lane in the Hunter Valley, the recent purchase of Emma’s Cottage Vineyard with café in the Hunter Valley, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort with its renowned restaurant Fireplace, InterContinental Sydney, and InterContinental Hayman Island.

The Group is also a major event operator having run the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show for over 30 years and having recently been appointed by the Boating Industry Association to run the Sydney Boat Show and other shows around Australia.
