Dorsett Hospitality International’s luxury resort on track to open early 2022.

The Gold Coast’s newest luxury hotel, Dorsett Gold Coast, is on track to open in early 2022. It marks the beginning of Dorsett Hospitality International’s bold expansion across Australia, with three more hotels scheduled to open in capital cities in the coming years.

The first major hotel to open in Queensland since the pandemic, the $400 million Dorsett Gold Coast project, undertaken by Star Entertainment Group and its consortium partners from Hong Kong, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium, is a vote of confidence in Australian tourism.

The Gold Coast tower is just the beginning. Luxury Dorsett Hotels in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth will follow, joining 55 other Dorsett Hospitality International properties across 25 major cities.

Dorsett Hospitality International President and Executive Director Winnie Chiu said, “Australia is a very attractive market for us. Looking at the last ten years pre-Covid, Australia’s tourism market has enjoyed a steady and promising growth with international visitors increasing to 69%.

Now that Australia has just announced their plan to phase out the country’s zero-Covid policy and to start living with Covid while focusing on the vaccine effort, we are also excited to welcome back travellers from Sydney and Melbourne to Dorsett Gold Coast when it opens early next year!”

Located in vibrant urban centres, each of Australia’s new Dorsett Hotels promise exclusive local twists, with strong community connections that are in tune with the unique cultural flair of each place. Dorsett Gold Coast’s hotel lobby will feature a light installation by a local artist that captures the essence of the city.

Featuring a vibrant poolside experience and a café and bar, Dorsett Gold Coast will form part of The Star Gold Coast’s world-class integrated resort in Broadbeach, which boasts some of the region’s best bars and restaurants, a theatre, world-class conference facilities and gaming amenities.

“The Gold Coast has always been a popular destination thanks to its world-class dining and entertainment, beautiful beaches and over the last few years, MICE and entertainment facilities.

There is so much potential here, especially with the Gold Coast owning 49% of Queensland’s conference and business events market share. The Gold Coast was the first regional Australian city to ever host the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and now Brisbane will be hosting the 2032 Summer Olympics!” said Ms Chiu.Australia’s Dorsett Hotels will feature state-of-the-art technology, such as contactless check-in, to ensure COVID-safe travel, and a lift designed to allow maximum fresh air into the lift lobby.
