The new $430million Burly is on track to be delivered to North Burleigh on the Gold Coast, with the development application now approved for the luxury residential apartment building to be constructed on the large amalgamated double site overlooking the beach.

Burly is set to transform the North Burleigh area, with the prominent 2024sqm development site to become a landmark building of high distinction featuring 40 metres of frontage that will receive a lush streetscape.

Burly is a $430million luxury apartment development comprising of an exclusive collection of 101 luxurious two, three and three-bedroom plus multipurpose room apartment residences and four-bedroom penthouses across 24 levels, being delivered by leading Australian property developer David Devine and his team at DD Living.

Now the development application is through, preparations are underway to officially launch the luxury 24-level residential apartment development with construction expected to start by the end of this year and completion is forecast for 2026.

DD Living Founder and Managing Director David Devine is pleased the DA has been approved for his team to now proceed to the next stages of delivering Burly to the highest level of luxurious detail.

He said DD Living had been confident of Burly getting the green light due to the extensive design work collaborated with and achieved by the architectural excellence of Koichi Takada Architects.

“We are excited to know that Burly will soon start to take shape and transform North Burleigh with its impeccable architectural design by Koichi Takada and interior treatments by Mim Design, who I have been working with for many years,” Mr Devine said.

“Burly is inspired by six-star private residences around the world and the beautiful Burleigh Heads beach, with luxurious design treatments inside and out blending sophisticated cosmopolitan elegance and beachside living. We called the building Burly to evoke a sense of nostalgia as it was the original spelling of Burleigh back in the 1840s.

“It is wonderful that the design has been able to include an abundance of lush green space which is only possible because we were able to amalgamate two adjoining sites for the Burly development. We have also been able to expand the residential offering and dedicate two whole levels to premium beach and club lifestyle amenities of exceptional standard and style thanks to our design team

“It is an exciting time for us at DD Living with the DA now through, so we can prepare to clear the site for construction, and we look forward to walking that journey with Burly’s new community of apartment owners.”

Burly architect Koichi Takada said the building set a new benchmark for beachfront living in Burleigh Heads.

“Our architectural design is inspired by the whitewash meeting the sand and the facade echoes the natural curvature of the coastline. We wanted to maximise the connection with nature and encourage residents to take advantage of the lifestyle within this subtropical climate.”

The Burly Information Centre is now open on site at 264 The Esplanade, North Burleigh, open from 10am to 4pm daily.

Luxury apartment marketing agency TOTAL Property Group is managing the apartment sales at Burly and has reported strong interest since the premium beachfront apartment development application was lodged in October 2022.

TOTAL Property Group Managing Director Adrian Parsons said prestige property buyers recognised Burly as a unique opportunity to own an expansive, premium apartment overlooking the beach in the highly sought-after North Burleigh area.

“Burly has the exact mix of qualities that buyers of prestige property are looking for,” Mr Parsons said.

“The spacious three-bedroom-plus multipurpose residences at Burly are getting a lot of interest from buyers who would normally be looking for houses.

“Burly’s six-star resort and lifestyle amenity, its prime position in North Burleigh opposite the beach within a short walking distance to boutique retail and dining in Burleigh Heads are massive drawcards.

“Burleigh has one of the world’s best beaches and a thriving seaside village that is now considered one of Gold Coast’s best dining destinations due to the increasing numbers of charming cafes and chef-hatted restaurants.

“We have seen Burleigh Heads evolve into a world-class lifestyle mecca, corresponding with solid residential and commercial investment in recent times that has increased demand for premium residences in the Burleigh area.

“There is huge demand for premium residences with beach views on the Gold Coast, particularly areas like Burleigh that rate high for lifestyle, and Burly meets all the criteria of prestige property buyers in this market.”

Famous for its surf break and headland, superb dining and unique retail shops, Burleigh Heads is now officially considered a “dining destination” by Gold Coast locals due to the many charming cafes and chef-hatted restaurants in the area, while boutique shopping, a wide choice of entertainment venues and public spaces punctuated by the heritage-listed Burleigh Headland and National Park continue to position Burleigh as one of Queensland’s best spots to live as well as holiday.

Burly is conveniently positioned at 264-268 The Esplanade, North Burleigh on one of Gold Coast’s most desirable residential beachfront strips just 13km from Gold Coast International Airport and 6km from the Pacific Motorway providing easy access to Brisbane and the capital city’s international airport.

DD Living is synonymous with ultra-premium residential apartment buildings, such as the $435 million Royale Gold Coast at the exclusive, absolute beachfront strip of Northcliffe Terrace in Surfers Paradise, currently under construction by Hutchinson Builders.
