Brooke & Matt – The Valley Estate, Currumbin Valley, Gold Coast, 5th October 2022

WORDS: Ocean Road Magazine Editorial Staff PHOTOGRAPHY Aleisha Edwards @aleishaedwardsweddings

This gorgeous couple have been together 11 years, having met in high school at an inter-school sporting competition. High school sweethearts, amazing right? They moved from Tasmania to the Gold Coast together 6 years ago, and never looked back.

Brooke chose to incorporate baby blue tones into the overall feel of the day which complimented the venue so perfectly and was something new and unique that The Valley Estate had not seen yet. Their bespoke wedding cake and outstanding choices of attire brought a classy and elegant feel to the day.

THE PROPOSAL

“We went for a sunset picnic at our favourite beach spot near the spit at main beach…we sat down to delicious food, dipped our toes in the water, and, as we were dipping our toes, Matt got down on one knee! “

THE VENUE

“The Valley Estate was the only venue we visited when we began planning our wedding, it ticked every box for us. We had our heart set on getting married in a chapel, due to the sentimental nature of it for Brooke.”

THE CHAPEL

“Brooke was very close to her late pop, and he actually visited her in a dream telling her she needed to get married in a chapel. The chapel itself is stunning, and the architecture of the chapel is perfect.”

THE DRESS

“I went with two dresses, my first dress was from Nicole Milano, the second from Jane Hill. I tried on lots of dresses, knowing bridal gowns as I do it was inevitable, right? Finally, we went to White Lily Couture; Mum was blown away by this big, white, Nicole Milano tulle gown on the rack – when I got into the gown I felt like a bride! The name of the gown was ‘Ani’ – Annie was my aunty who passed away a few years ago, I was so close to her, so I saw this as a sign and burst into tears. This was my dress! As my first gown was huge, I knew I needed a second dress to move a little more freely and dance the night away. I flew to the Jane Hill Showroom in Melbourne and as soon as I tried the Saint gown I knew it was going to be amazing to dance the night away.”

BEST PHOTO LOCATION

“Night photos in front of The Manor; the lighting is incredible!”

BEST MOMENT

“The intimate time between each other when going off to take photos, just really being present with each other to let it sink in that we just got married.”

INSPO

“With my background in bridal couture, I would always see brides styling with beautiful blush tones & champagnes. I wanted to step out of the box and go for a different colour that I hadn’t seen much of – baby blue! We introduced blue hydrangeas to the styling & bouquets, and blue bridesmaid dresses. The ocean is our happy place, so what better colour for our wedding day!”

WORDS OF ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES WEDDING PLANNING

“Get married at the valley estate! The venue is incredible and the staff are amazing. The day of the wedding was the most beautiful, stress-free day as our wedding coordinator Lauren had everything under control. Also, plan together & consult with your partner – tackle issues together, as a team!”
