5POINT PROJECTS: A Style And Design Heritage That Stands The Test Of Time

Distinctive bespoke project designs rather than cookie-cutter plans.

With every project he takes on, 5Point Projects founder and managing director Damian Dove draws on the discipline of working for Tier One developers while injecting his own flair for design to create residential icons that stand the test of time.

Rejecting the cookie-cutter approach to development by larger corporations, and the hours spent in boardrooms, Mr Dove has found his niche in creating award-winning projects such as One Palm Beach and One Burleigh Headland, Perspective Two Sea at Palm Beach along with his newest developments Ophira Palm Beach and Faro at Broadbeach.

“Our business is built on creating distinctive residences that are unique in the market and this suits the boutique luxury project style that is our specialty niche,” said Mr Dove.

“These are the projects that our contractors and employees love to work on and, of course, for our customers, they deliver a wonderful coastal or inner-city lifestyle.”

5Point Projects was founded in 2015, originally as a contract builder, and since then the business has forged strong relationships with developers who were attracted to Mr Dove’s 20-year executive experience with some of the country’s biggest developers.

“From the outset, our goal was to build a sustainable business that delivers bespoke services specifically tailored to each individual project,” said Mr Dove.

“Our model has been built on referrals with developers seeking us out as preferred builders for their projects. In many cases, the developers we work with are specifically looking to implement a design that will truly stand out.”

Ophira Beachside Residences

Armed with an enviable reputation as a contract builder of choice, 5Point has since ventured into the development space that has led to a long list of award-winning projects in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, including One Palm Beach, One Burleigh Headland, One Bulimba, Obsidian Apartments, Perspective 488 and Perspective Two Sea, the latter two located at Palm Beach.

“The projects we are delivering are very unique and recognised for excellence by the industry,” said Mr Dove.

“The strength of our business is founded on our building arm, which probably gives us a competitive advantage in the current market.”

Many of the company’s development projects are undertaken in joint venture, including the company’s latest – Faro Broadbeach which is a reimagination of the original proposal put forward by Brisbane’s Bottega Group for a prime site at 123 Old Burleigh Road.

Faro Broadbeach, destined to become an idyllic vertical village of luxurious beachside residences close to urban amenities and the beach, will comprise 11 full-floor apartments, 3 two-level sub-penthouses and a stunning three-level penthouse.

Construction of Faro has commenced this month, trailing their Ophira Palm Beach, a boutique development comprising seven full-floor apartments and a sprawling two-level penthouse right on the beachfront on Jefferson Lane.

Each full-floor residence at Ophira will comprise spacious living areas of between 290sqm to 317sqm, including large open balconies and floor-to-ceiling glass windows to take advantage of spectacular ocean views.

Ophira’s two-level penthouse will be the pinnacle of coastal living – a spectacular residence of 637sqm with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and its own private outdoor entertainment area featuring a pool, spa, sundeck, with teppanyaki bar, a sunken lounge and fire pit.

“We are especially proud to be presenting Ophira as it will present the height of lavish coastal elegance while taking residents back to the basics of beachfront living,” said Mr Dove.

“Each of the residences we have designed for Ophira will be supremely private, allowing homeowners to truly immerse themselves in this beautiful part of the Gold Coast while enjoying the most amazing views of the beachfront.”

Buyers have been quick to respond to Ophira with 5Point revealing it has already secured buyers for 50% of the apartments on offer.

Mr Dove says the agility of the 5Point business is another key advantage that resonates with buyers.

“We take a deliberate and strategic approach to all our developments, targeting sites that we know have a unique appeal – whether that’s the beachfront on the Gold Coast or the riverfront in Brisbane.

“After so many years in the industry, we understand what discerning buyers are looking for in a premium residence in these locations and we go all out to give it to them.

“So, from the time we take a genuine interest in a particular site, within two years we can have a project conceptualised and delivered to the buyer. These days two years is a very short timeframe to be able to deliver a project of this scale.”

When working with developers, 5Point specialises in the early engagement of a project to ensure that from the selection of the site to the design and cost profile, planning for the development remains aligned with the developer’s vision.

“This in turn, then enables us to construct a high-quality product, that delivers on stakeholder expectation and importantly strong yields for the end client and the buyer,” said Mr Dove.

5Point solely operates in southeast Queensland and Northern NSW which Mr Dove says is vital to the company’s ethos of delivering a bespoke boutique offering to the development industry and to residential buyers.

“We’ll continue to have a competitive edge through this philosophy that, as a builder and developer, allows us to act on great opportunities.

“Looking ahead, we see a steady pipeline of work for us until at least 2030 and, as always, we are taking a sustainable approach to everything we do.”

$30M+ IN SALES FOR PALM BEACH PROJECT AS DEMAND SURGES

Buyers have made a rush at the only new off-the-plan beachfront apartment project to arrive in Palm Beach, with 5Point Projects’ ‘Ophira’ notching its way over the 50% sold mark after spending only weeks on the market.

Capitalising on the absence of ultra-luxury apartments in the Gold Coast’s newly established “millionaire’s row”, the $60 million Ophira Palm Beach has successfully sold five of its entire floor residences, each fetching over $7 million.

5Point Director, Damian Dove, says it’s been a phenomenon driven by local buyers enticed by the level of luxury and space offered in Ophira coupled with the fact it is the only absolute beachfront project in Palm Beach and currently in market.

“I think the locality of buyers we’ve welcomed is a huge testament to Ophira’s appeal to discerning locals who have a deep appreciation and understanding of the projects positioning as one of the coasts’ most coveted residential addresses.” said Mr Dove.

“Ophira is the only absolute off the plan beachfront project currently in market situated in the highly sought after Jefferson Lane precinct. Our expectations for the project were high and they have been not only met but exceeded.

Ophira Palm Beach comprises just seven full-floor sky homes and a sprawling two-level penthouse with the offering catching the interest of local buyers well ahead of its release.

Each full-floor residence will comprise spacious living areas of between 290qm to 317sqm, including large open balconies and floor-to-ceiling glass windows to take advantage of spectacular ocean views.

Ophira’s two-level penthouse will deliver an expansive 637sqm of living space with four bedrooms, five bathrooms and its own private outdoor entertainment area featuring a pool, spa, sauna, sundeck, with teppanyaki bar, a sunken lounge and fire pit.

Through private entryways, Ophira’s exclusive collection of full-floor sky homes open to reveal a meticulously designed tranquil oasis featuring wine storage, a functioning scullery off the kitchen, three spacious bedrooms all fully ensuited with designer robes, plus study and a family/media room.

The expansive balcony overlooking the beachfront provides extended living that connects directly with the natural beauty of the Palm Beach foreshore, whilst offering captivating views to both Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta skylines.

Interiors are infused with natural products encompassing stone benchtops and tiles, polished lime render and oak timber highlighted via the abundance of natural light throughout imparting a glow that complements the exquisite décor.

“As with each of our projects, we wanted to create something that differentiated itself from the market. I think the sales we’ve achieved to date are a strong indication that our aptitude for quality design and remarkable architecture are resonating with buyers,” said Mr Dove.

“Given the rate with which apartments have been purchased to date, we expect the remaining apartments to sell out fast.”

Construction is officially underway on the project, and prices for remaining luxury Ophira residences start from $6.55 million.
