Beckah Amani is one of the freshest voices to emerge in a very long time. This Gold Coast based singer/songwriter melds the best parts of soul, pop, RnB and alt-folk and combines them with rich lyrics to create deep, multi layered and thought provoking songs.
2020 saw Beckah release the thought provoking and reflective track STANDARDS. Written at the height of the Black Lives Matter protests in June, “Standards” continues an important conversation on racism and experiences of people of colour. “Standards” reflects on white privilege and the weight of baring black skin, looking different and coming from a different place.
“STANDARDS” caught the attention of many including Double J who highlighted it as one of the best tracks added to Double J”, Declan Byrne from Triple J stated Beckah’s “voice needs to be heard by millions” and superstar Tones and I personally got in touch with Beckah. Tones and I went on to place STANDARDS in her Instagram-based competition That One Song where it finished as a finalist.
There are many exciting things to look forward to from Beckah in the coming months. You can catch her supporting Busby Marou on Thursday the 12th and Friday the 13th of November at The Triffid Brisbane and Saturday November 28th supporting Sahara Beck at HOTA Gold Coast where you will hear songs from her upcoming LP “Settling Scores”. Beckah is deep into the recording of her debut album in a Gold Coast studio with Producer JWISA and engineer/mixer Guy Cooper rounding out the creative team.
Wrap your ears around Beckah Amani as she is showing all of the signs of an incredibly important artist for many years to come.

Asho left home and school at an early age to sing in punk rock bands and quickly realised that it was better for everybody that he stayed on the other side of the stage. Asho is proud to have worked closely with hundreds of artists including the likes of MUMFORD & SONS, AMY SHARK, ROBBIE WILLIAMS, POWDERFINGER, THE LIVING END, PAUL KELLY and THE GO-BETWEENS. He is getting more obsessed about music with age.
