Women in Tourism ‘The Power of Pink Breakfast

The Women in Tourism Gold Coast ‘The Power of Pink’ breakfast at The Langham on Friday, October 4, was a sea of vibrant pink as over 100 members and guests attended a morning dedicated to breast cancer awareness. More than 100 members and their guests kicked up their heels with fun pink props and listened to the moving and inspiring stories of the guest panel led by Channel Nine Queensland News Reporter, Clare Todhunter.  Dr Robyn Cameron renowned for her Pink Ribbon Raceday efforts shared her journey as Australia’s top community fundraiser for breast cancer. Susan Porrett of Pink Flamingo fame confided she ran away from home at age 15 to join the circus fuelled by a dream in her heart to one day open a cabaret theatre and global leadership coach, Paula Johnson who looked through the psychologist lens to share with the WIT crowd what it takes to overcome adversity and bend the world in your favour.

WIT Sponsor O’Reilly Workplace Law attended along with a host of high-profile local businesses who donated over $5000 in spectacular prizes: The Imperial Hotel, Resort News, The Langham, GC Suns, The Entertainment Book, Pink Flamingo, Airtrain, Stayco, Mandala Hotels and Resorts, ArtVo, Dendy Cinemas, Allium Consulting, The Endo Shop and Village Roadshow Theme Parks with all proceeds donated to the Gold Coast Hospital Foundations  Cancer Patient Support project and new initiative Sally’s Pink Up.
