It was lights, camera, action at Women in Tourism Gold Coast’s April breakfast, where the spotlight was on how film and tourism are shaping the future of the region.

Held at Paradise Country, the event featured a powerhouse panel hosted by Tania Zaetta, with The Honourable John-Paul Langbroek MP (Minister for Education and the Arts), Gina Black (Gold Coast Film Commission/Invest Gold Coast), and Digital tourism star Allan Dixon.

Panellists explored how the film and tourism industries collaborate to position the Gold Coast as a global destination, highlighting iconic productions that have boosted the region’s visibility. Key insights were shared on how the Gold Coast Film Commission and Invest Gold Coast attract international productions, the incentives available, and the crucial support offered to local filmmakers and businesses. The panel also addressed current skills shortages in the screen sector and the growing importance of education and training pathways for the next generation of creatives.
