Unlocking the Pinnacle of Luxury Living: A Journey Through Elite Property Investment

WORDS: Lisa Harris - Founder of Finvest PHOTOGRAPHY Supplied

For over four years, I’ve had the privilege of being on call to showcase some of Australia’s most opulent properties, including penthouses priced up to $30 million. Working with celebrated developers, this experience has been nothing short of humbling and eye-opening, a far cry from the days when I was handling investment properties around the $1 million mark.

Today, I find myself immersed in a world where transactions often exceed tens of millions, catering to clients who are not just buying homes but investing in a lifestyle that many only dream of.

The first time I saw a $45 million price tag on a property portal, I couldn’t help but wonder – who are these people? At that point, I had already established a successful investment portfolio, but the high-end luxury market was still a mystery. As the years passed, I began to understand the mindset of these elite buyers – many of whom are repeat clients, purchasing properties in areas that lack comparable precedents. Their decisions, though seemingly bold, are grounded in a deep understanding of value, legacy, and lifestyle.

One of my most memorable experiences was working with a client on a $4 million-plus off-the-plan purchase. She was second-generation in development, and her approach was meticulous, involving detailed discussions with architects to ensure every aspect of the property met her expectations. This process introduced me to the concept of amalgamation, where multiple units are combined to create a larger, more valuable property – often at a better price point than a single sub-penthouse in the same development. It’s a trend that has shaped how I view investment opportunities and one that has proven successful in my own portfolio in both Brisbane and Melbourne.

Amalgamation offers a world of possibilities. It allows investors to plan for future lifestyle changes, whether it’s selling on completion, converting the property into a family vacation home, or positioning it as a high-end rental. The potential for value appreciation is immense, especially when the property is located in amenity-rich environments that cater to both the present and future needs of discerning buyers.

At Finvest, we specialise in off-market properties and serve a loyal clientele across Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and beyond. We understand that the journey to purchasing a luxury property often begins with a casual conversation – a spark of curiosity that evolves into a series of questions and consultations. It’s a process that can be as exhilarating as it is daunting, regardless of whether you’re a seasoned investor or a first-time buyer.

No one likes to feel rushed into a decision, especially one as significant as purchasing a luxury property. At Finvest, we recognise that the desire to invest often arises unexpectedly – perhaps during a social event or after witnessing a friend’s success. It’s a feeling we are intimately familiar with, having been in the industry for over a decade. The magic of this business lies in its unpredictability – the way a casual encounter can lead to life-changing decisions.

Recently, we hosted an exclusive launch event on a luxury yacht, bringing together clients and friends who have supported us over the years. The event was a celebration of a new project, one that exemplifies the extraordinary opportunities available in today’s market. Among the attendees was a family who has secured their fourth investment with us in just eight months. Their journey, like many others, is a testament to the transformative power of luxury property investment.

In this industry, we are constantly reminded of the importance of connections – those moments of resonance that can alter the course of our lives. These are the moments we are honoured to be part of and thank our Finvestors wholeheartedly for sharing these times with us.

The possibilities are endless, and the rewards—immeasurable.
