Top hair tips from the team at TONI&GUY BROADBEACH
WORDS: ORM PHOTOGRAPHY Supplied by TONI & GUY
We spoke to the talented team At TONI&GUY Broadbeach to get some professional at-home insider tips to keep your hair looking great, even between salon visits when you don’t have a glam squad on hand!
KELLY – ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
When I sit down with clients and find out about their at-home routine they often say that their hair doesn’t like or respond well to hair products. Once we get into the nitty gritty of it normally a client might be using a product that is great, but not for their particular hair type. Or they have the correct product but are using it incorrectly. So I think learning what to use, how to use it, at what point to apply it (in the wash day cycle) and the correct amount to use is imperative to a great Haircare routine.
NICHOLAS – STYLE DIRECTOR & HEAD TECHNICIAN
I am obsessed with brushes!
So many clients try to do their hair with one brush but lots of styles require a smaller one for the shorter areas and a larger brush for the longer areas. Then a brush for detangling wet hair and a softer bristle for brushing dry hair and back brushing. Of course, you can get some multi-use brushes but they might not do the job as efficiently as a specific one.
LISSY – SENIOR TECHNICIAN
I want my clients to be living their best hair colour life every day – sometimes it can be a journey but I love using weft extensions to give my clients the exact colour they want instantly with zero damage to the hair. They also get the added bonus of additional thickness and volume. There’s a reason that all the celebrities wear them and there are plenty of options for everyone, for example, my clients that go to the beach a lot favour more temporary options but we can custom colour them so they look like your real hair.
PAIGE – STYLIST
My clients love our Label.m Cool Blonde Toning Shampoo & Conditioners and the Wella Color Fresh Create Masks that come in a variety of tones. They only take 5 minutes to use and can really top up your colour between visits.
KAIA – APPRENTICE HAIRDRESSER
Using a firm pressure when shampooing can really help clean the scalp thoroughly – this alone can help extend your blowdry by an extra day. It also gets the blood pumping which is great for the scalp.
LIV – APPRENTICE HAIRDRESSER
Have a day a week where you give your hair a break and do an upstyle – often if the hair is nearly in need of cleansing you can do a really good hair up using some dry shampoo and workable hairspray.
My favourite is a sleek bun with a centre parting.
