Bushfire Appeal Charity Golf Day to raise funds for Currumbin Wildlife Hospital

WORDS: PHOTOGRAPHY

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is proud to be the charity of choice at the first annual EC Pohl & Co Charity Golf Day which will be held at Lakelands Golf Club with thanks to major sponsors EC Pohl & Co and Hastings Floorworld.

Dylan Stoner and Jason Pohl, along with a group of local young businessmen were inspired by the recent bushfire efforts and the race to help local wildlife, and decided to help further by hosting a Charity Golf Day to raise much needed funds for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

The Charity Golf Day will be held on Friday 21st February, 2020 and there is expected to be close to 120 players in attendance. The interest from the local community has been incredible, with businesses from various industries getting behind the event.

All the proceeds from the Bushfire Appeal Charity Golf Day event will go to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital for their vital work of treating, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

The wildlife hospital has seen a spike in admissions in recent times due to animals suffering burns and complications from the recent bushfires and drought around the country.

The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, located on the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, opened 30 years ago and has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world admitting over 12,200 animals a year, including nearly 600 Koalas – a service that is provided free of charge to the community.
