High Seas

If you love everything about the ocean — from sitting back and admiring the view to tasting superior seafood — you won’t want to miss the Sheraton Grand Mirage’s new special menu.

Hot on the heels of ‘High Cheese’, the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort is now proud to present its latest seasonal offering ‘High Seas’.

“The sun’s out, it’s starting to warm up — and it’s the perfect time to start drinking some sparkling,” bars manager Steve Haaja tells ORM. “Seafood is the hero of each dish. This new menu really is divine.”

When it opened three decades ago, the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort was the only absolute beachfront resort on the Gold Coast. Today, it remains the only beachfront property.

If you haven’t been for a while, now is the perfect time to step back into this breathtaking destination and enjoy the stunning ocean view from Pearls Bar. This is the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the mouth-watering High Seas offerings.

“Our Savoury Seaweed Scones are made on the premises,” Steve says.

“These are served with whipped miso butter and furikake. You won’t believe how delicious these are until you’ve tried them!”

Also on the menu are Cured Beetroot Salmon (served with avocado mousse and seaweed salad), Spiced Potted Shrimp (with crusty rye sour dough), and Chargrilled Bug Tacos (corn tortilla, purple cabbage, pickled cucumber, and mustard cress aioli).

And, of course, there are Tasmanian Pittwater oysters.

“No one does oysters as well as Tasmania,” he says. “They take pride of place on the High Seas menu and are served three ways: bloody Mary, mignonette, or natural.”

More features of the menu include Moreton Bay Bug Rolls (with lemon and toasted fennel seeds), Spanner Crab Croquettes (with crème fraiche and watercress), and Squid Ink Tapioca Crackers (served with trout roe and smoked saffron rouille).

“All of these are real seafood treats for the tastebuds,” Steve says. “And then, to finish, we have an incredible Gin Lemon Cheesecake.”

Yes, that’s gin … and lemon … in a cheesecake. What could be more perfect?
