Gruffalo celebrates 20th Birthday at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary!

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has partnered with Gold Coast City Libraries to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Gruffalo!

Gruffalo fans of all ages are invited to help celebrate the Gruffalo’s 20th birthday at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which is FREE with their entry ticket or membership. Children will also take home a Gruffalo activity pack! (limited stock available)

There will appearances by the Gruffalo, face painting, an activity zone, spot prizes as well as kid’s craft.

Gold Coast City Libraries have been celebrating Gruffalo’s birthday by having themed interactive story times at the libraries across the Gold Coast, and will be holding a special story time at the Gruffalo’s party.

Guests are welcome to explore the Sanctuary and experience the Gruffalo Trail after the Gruffalo birthday party. The Gruffalo Trail attraction is an Australian first.  It’s a fun and interactive trail which gets kids outdoors, keeps them active and entertained, and promotes children’s literacy.

About The Gruffalo Trail
For the first time in Australia, through a partnership with Magic Light Pictures, The Gruffalo has come to life at National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (NTCWS) with The Gruffalo Trail experience and an augmented reality app.

The Gruffalo Trail is free with entry, and families can download the complimentary Gruffalo Spotters app and follow clues through an interactive trail.  For those wanting to step away from technology, there are a lot of fun and interactive experiences to enjoy along the trail.

The app allows you to take photos next to the characters which are then automatically added to your gallery.  This makes it easy to share your favourite photos via social media, using the hashtag #GruffaloSpotter.

The Gruffalo picture book has sold more than 13.5 million copies worldwide, and has been portrayed on stage, in an Oscar nominated film and now in augmented reality. The much-loved children’s book celebrates 20 years this year.
