Creature Keepers at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary – 9/10 & 16/17 January

Become a Creature Keeper these school holidays at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Run by highly experienced professionals in wildlife care, this program is designed for 12-17 year olds with a keen interest in wildlife. It is a real zoo experience and gives teenagers exposure to working in the zoo environment. The summer program will be focused on reptiles.

Become an Eco Ranger – 8 – 19 January

Kids 6-12 years can experience and learn about wildlife and conservation at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary these school holidays. The itinerary includes a train ride and animal shows, animal feed out activities, behind the scenes tours and more, all supervised and guided by professional educators. $60 per child (per day) also includes lunch and a photo with one of our native Australian animals.

Lost Valley - NOW OPEN

The exciting and amazing precinct Lost Valley is NOW OPEN at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Take in the beauty of this 5-hectare rainforest as you wind your way along elevated boardwalks, whilst discovering exotic wildlife.

Uncover the secrets of the ancient supercontinent Gondwana and explore a forgotten world!  Interact with exotic species including Ring-Tail Lemurs and Cotton-Top Tamarins, Red Panda, Capybaras and free-flying birds, reptiles and so much more. Seaside Sounds Kirra 21 January - 18 February

Summer on the Southern Gold Coast is set to reach a whole new level, with the free summer concert series, Seaside Sounds, returning for its second year over January and February.

Held at Kirra’s Roughton Park over five consecutive Sundays, the events will see local musicians and entertainers take the stage for an evening of smooth tunes in the cool ocean breeze.

The family friendly events are the perfect opportunity to come out and meet with friends, eat delicious cuisine from gourmet food vendors, enjoy the free face painting and jumping castle for the kids, and dance along to live music.





Melanoma March Coolangatta - 4 March


Melanoma March will return to Coolangatta for the fourth year in 2018, starting at The Strand at Coolangatta from 7:00am on Sunday 4 March.

Locals are encouraged to sign up as an individual or team and join the annual campaign to raise funds and awareness for a cure for melanoma.

This year participants can purchase a special coloured wristband; green if you are on your own melanoma journey, orange if you are marching to remember a loved one or yellow to show you are marching to support and celebrate what has been achieved to help those with melanoma.

Movies Under the Stars Currumbin - 10 March

Settle in for a free evening under the night sky as Movies Under the Stars comes to Currumbin’s Galleon Park on Saturday 10 March.

Featuring a Food Truck Fiesta and pre-movie interactive fun for the kids with Sparky Do Dah from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, enjoy an afternoon the entire family will enjoy before the film ‘Boss Baby’ (PG) hits the big screen at 7:00pm.

Quiksilver and Roxy Pro – 11-22 March

One of the most iconic surf competitions and the first stop on the World Surf League Championship Tour, the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro, will once again take over the Southern Gold Coast from 11 – 22 March, 2018.

Surfers and spectators from around the region and the world converge on Coolangatta’s Snapper Rocks, with the event attracting the biggest names in surfing for the coveted title.

The action isn’t only out on the water, with onshore side events and a wide range of entertainment to occupy all ages.
