FAMILY FEATURE JESSICA SKARRATT

Here we profile one of the bubbliest personalities in TV, local golden girl Jessica Skarratt. After a successful role as presenter/producer for Network Ten’s children’s program, Totally Wild, Jess now calls Channel 7 home. She presents Queensland Weekender and has been hosting the Gold Coast Suns Game Day TV show for seven seasons. Jess loves the outdoors, sharing the stories behind small businesses, and cultivating a sense of community. Jess and partner Dave have recently welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Halliday, into the world, who will no doubt add some more sunshine to the Gold Coast!

Who makes up your family?

My daughter Halliday Grace and my parental-partner-in-crime Dave.

What’s your favourite thing to do together here on the GC?

We love the outdoors, we’re salt-water babies! We've shared special times playing under the pandanus trees and swimming at Tallebudgera Creek. We're incredibly grateful to have this piece of paradise on our doorstep. We also love venturing up Tomewin Mountain Road in Currumbin Valley to pick up produce and admire picturesque views at Freeman's Organic Farm.

Do you have a family tradition from your childhood that you now share together, or plan to continue with your own family?

We both grew up in musical families and are passionate about Hallie growing up in a household filled with music. Dave’s a talented musician and plays guitar and sings to Hallie. I'm all about the daggy dancing and can't wait for us to dress up in matching costumes and choreograph crazy routines. I'm dead-set serious, the poor little chicken is stuck with an embarrassing mum for life!

Do you have plans to grow your family?

We definitely want to give Hallie a brother or sister but it won't be happening anytime soon. For now, we're content being in our 'love bubble' of three!
