  1. How long have you been modelling for and where were you scouted?

I’ve been modelling for about five years now. I was scouted in late 2019 by Mandy at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast. She placed me with Priscillas Models in 2022, and I currently live in Sydney, where I balance full-time studies with my modelling journey.

  1. Where are you from and your background?

I was born and raised on the Gold Coast. My ethnicity is Chinese, and my cultural roots as an Australian-born Chinese have shaped the person I am today.

  1. Favourite thing about your home city?

The Gold Coast’s weather is my favourite thing. It’s perfect for someone like me who thrives in warmer climates. The sunny days make it ideal for beach trips, cafe hopping, and long walks. Since moving to Sydney, I’ve come to appreciate the Gold Coast’s year-round warmth even more. Sydney winters are colder than I anticipated!

  1. What are your favourite go-to exercises for working out?

I love pilates (both reformer and mat), yoga, and barre. Recently, I’ve also been attending fiesta dance classes at my local gym, which has been a fun way to reconnect with my background in dance. Fun fact: I hold a Certificate II in Dance, which I acquired during middle school before COVID-19.

  1. Favourite go-to healthy meal?

I’m a big fan of Asian cuisine, and Japanese bentos are my go-to because they’re balanced, nutrient-packed, and delicious. Lately, I’ve also been exploring Middle Eastern food, especially Turkish cuisine. There’s an incredible restaurant in Sydney that serves a chicken kebab plate I absolutely love.

  1. Healthy morning ritual that you follow to start your day on a positive note?

I start every morning with a glass of water to hydrate, followed by meditation. It helps me clear my mind, focus on gratitude, and set a positive tone for the day. Most mornings, I also attend a pilates or yoga class to destress and feel physically and mentally refreshed.

  1. What do you love about modelling?

I love how modelling has connected me with incredibly talented individuals in the creative industry. Growing up, I rarely saw models or public figures who looked like me, so pursuing modelling never felt like a realistic career option. Being scouted at a young age changed my perspective, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and for the industry’s growing diversity and representation. Modelling has taught me invaluable interpersonal skills that are essential in any career.

  1. What have been your favourite jobs?

Runway shows have definitely been a highlight for me. Walking in my first Australian Fashion Week was unforgettable, as were the fashion student showcases and Gina Kim’s runway at the Serving Our People Charity lunch back on the Gold Coast. Another favourite job is editorials, my first magazine cover was for Indulgence Magazine, a Chinese-Australian publication that was very close to my heart. More recently, I was featured in the ELLE Malaysia November print issue.

  1. You have worked internationally – what has been your favourite place to travel for work?

I relocated early this year from the Gold Coast to Sydney for university and further my modelling career. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney whilst working as a model represented by Priscillas who are a lovely team. While I haven’t travelled internationally for work just yet, I hope to do so in 2025. I’m excited to explore new places and apply the life skills I’ve gained since moving away from home.

  1. Tips for any upcoming models?

My biggest tip is to avoid comparing yourself to others. In an industry centred around appearances, comparison is the thief of joy. Instead, focus on your own growth and stay true to yourself while remaining grounded.  Be present and professional on set – engage with the team, listen to feedback, and treat everyone with respect. My parents instilled in me the importance of kindness and good manners, values that help build meaningful relationships. Clients remember more than just your looks; they appreciate humility, professionalism, and a positive attitude, which can lead to future opportunities.
