Tell us about your typical day.

My typical work day is quite busy and often long hours. Most weekdays I get up at 4am and go to the gym at 4:30am until 6am. Then I grab a coffee and enjoy a morning walk along the beach with my wife Denise. I usually get to the office around 8:15am and divide my working hours into time for clients, buyers and my team. Remaining agile is the key in this industry. I try to always ensure I am home for dinner with my family and will often get back on the computer late at night to return urgent emails and catch up and plan for the coming day.

Tell us about your family.

I met my beautiful wife Denise 16 years ago and we have been married for 12 years. Denise is a pillar of strength in our relationship and enjoys celebrating our business successes and supports me through the demanding lifestyle that comes from running a Real Estate Business. We have an 11 year old son Leonardo who is already taking after me with his negotiation skills, rarely taking no for an answer and taking on the best traits from Denise. We are really proud of him and love watching his personality grow.

How do you relax?

I actually find it very hard to switch off these days as Real Estate is always so fluid. Clients expect you to be available at all hours in the prestige sector of the market and when there is a deal in play you can’t sleep until it’s done. However, I do believe that it is just as important to reward ourselves as it is to work hard, so we always plan at least two significant family holidays each year. Denise and I often take time on holidays for business planning and goal setting, it’s amazing how clear your objectives become when you’re not in the business.

What are your core beliefs?

Respect is at the top of my list and treating all parties the way you would like to be treated. I try and strive to give my clients a first class experience wherever possible.

Fave coffee shop & restaurants?

No Name Lane in Broadbeach is my local cafe.  There are so many restaurants to choose from: Japanese – Kyomi; Italian –          Cicchetti’s; Modern Australian – Social; Asian Fusion – Mamasan.

What’s the one thing that no one knows about Michael?

My family are large supporters of Cancer Research. We have dedicated a lot of time and resources investing in therapies capable of countering several major diseases afflicting society today. Our mission is to develop breakthrough drugs that push the limits of anti-cancer response rates, and hasten the evolution of cancer treatments into cancer cures in collaboration with some of the largest and most respected institutions in the world. It’s something I am very passionate about. I believe that the upper echelon do not give enough back to support these causes and it is sad because at some point they will be impacted by them.

How did you start out in Real Estate?

I started in Real Estate at the age of 18 after a brief stint at University, which wasn’t really exciting me. I started at the very bottom sitting on reception answering the phones and doing basic admin duties.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy a number of aspects about my job. Developing people is really rewarding but the most exciting part is negotiating record-breaking deals for my sellers. I endeavour to always work hard for my clients to try and achieve the best result possible. It’s never an exact science and you won’t please everyone all of the time, but in 99 per cent of occasions I think we achieve these objectives.

Where do you live now, and what would be your dream home if you could live anywhere in the world?

We live in The Oracle in Broadbeach which we really enjoy. We have had thoughts and lengthy discussions of building a house on the river or the beach but with one child its hard to leave the convenience of apartment living at The Oracle and the lifestyle.
