From grassroots to greatness, The Magic Group expands across Australia with elite tournaments shaping the future of football

Magic United Football Club isn’t just making moves on the pitch—they’re redefining the game across the country. Under the banner of The Magic Group, the club is driving a national expansion that’s transforming how young footballers train, compete, and rise through the ranks.

What began as a local success story on the Gold Coast is now a thriving network of tournaments and leagues across Australia. With 15 competitive events tailored to fit different seasonal needs, The Magic Group’s reach is growing fast—and the results speak for themselves.

“We’re very excited about the event offerings we have, catering to the needs of teams from around Australia,” says Magic Group CEO Adem Poric. “Our focus is on providing quality, competitive environments for players at all stages of development.”

A Tournament for Every Season

The Pre-Season Club Championship is one of the flagship offerings. It’s a club-based competition designed to ease the challenge of organising friendlies before the regular season. Already running in South East Queensland, Melbourne, and Perth, it gives clubs a streamlined way to prepare while facing strong opposition.

The Diamond League has also taken off, with active competitions in the Gold Coast (hosted by TSS), Melbourne, and Perth. This year alone, 130 teams will travel to Melbourne in July for a dynamic three-day tournament. Back in April, 101 teams turned out for a trio of Gold Coast events, including the TSS Tournament, Kings Easter Championship, and Academy League Gold Coast.

A Premier Event

The crown jewel of The Magic Group’s calendar remains The Premier Invitational. First held on the Gold Coast in 2012, it has grown into one of the country’s most significant junior football tournaments.
“In 2024, 500 teams participated, and over 105,000 players and spectators attended,” says Poric. “We’re on track to reach over 600 teams in 2025.”

This year’s edition runs from September 26th to October 5th and promises another unforgettable showcase of talent.

Following the Invitational, The Academy League runs through the off-season (October–November) in Queensland. It gives young players access to top-tier games, providing crucial match experience against established academies. In 2024, 80 teams took part.

Expanding the Magic

One of the most exciting developments is the launch of the Sydney Premier League, kicking off in October 2025. Announced earlier this June, the new league aims to unite the state’s strongest academies in a structured competition featuring promotion and relegation.
“This will be a real game-changer,” says Poric. “It’s all about giving players and coaches more opportunities to grow through quality, competitive football.”

The Sydney Premier League ensures consistent, high-level matches and creates a clear pathway for ambitious players aiming to take their game to the next level.
