DEVELOPMENT

Living it up Gold Coast style

GemLife’s new development takes over-50s living on the Gold Coast to the next level.

PICTURE yourself, cooling off in an upper-level terrace infinity-edge pool with sunken conversation lounges, semi-submerged sun lounges, airy cabanas and stylish outdoor entertainment areas while taking in sweeping views towards the Gold Coast’s iconic coastline.

It sounds like a description of an exclusive, high-end boutique hotel. But in fact, it is just one feature among a staggering list of superb facilities planned for a new over-50s lifestyle resort coming to the Gold Coast. The resort, GemLife Gold Coast, will set a high bar for this growing sector, turning traditional concepts of over-50s and retirement living upside down. The development is GemLife’s first in the region, something its Director and CEO Adrian Puljich – a Gold Coaster himself – is particularly excited about.

“GemLife Gold Coast will be our flagship resort and it will, without doubt, take over-50s living to the next level. I’ve no doubt that it’ll be market-leading. It’ll be a hard act to beat,” Adrian says. “There’s something extra special about seeing a project like this realised, especially in your hometown. I cannot wait to see it come together.”

GemLife Gold Coast is located on a unique, elevated site in the region’s fast-growing northern corridor at Pimpama. When completed, the resort will feature a luxe, three-level country club, a chic outdoor recreational precinct and wellness centre with a pavilion atop the site’s highest point.

LIFESTYLE FACILITIES

Over-50s resort living is all about an active, vibrant way of life and an extraordinary array of lifestyle facilities are central to the GemLife offering.

Country Club

A stunning, architecturally designed country club will take centre stage at the Gold Coast resort. Equal parts sanctuary and a place to get social, the three-level building is tailored for homeowners to find the right balance between fitness, health, relaxation and fun. “Residents will have so much choice right on their doorstep. They can unwind and breathe in the fresh air from a poolside cabana, relax with friends in the wine lounge, or work up a sweat in the fitness centre,” Adrian says. “The country club will mirror the look and feel of an upscale boutique hotel. It will be like nothing seen before in the sector.” The country club’s ground floor will feature a grand hall with stage, dance floor and a commercial kitchen for functions and events, a bar and lounge, creative studio, library, hair salon, café and an undercover balcony area with outdoor lounges and dining areas. Up a level, you’ll find a fitness centre with a health club, including a fully equipped gym, yoga studio, indoor lap pool, spa and sauna. This floor will also house a large lounge and games room with golf simulator and the stand-out Sky Lounge, a circular room made of glass with 180-degree views towards the Gold Coast skyline. Residents will be able to get cosy around its central fireplace in the cooler months but the star of the show will undoubtedly be the stunning infinity-edge pool on the upper-level terrace, with its sunken conversation lounges, semi-submerged sun-lounges and poolside cabanas. Amenities on the lower level will include a four-lane ten-pin bowling alley, residents’ workshop, boutique cinema and six-rink lawn bowls greens.

Outdoor facilities

In addition to the country club, the resort will feature an outdoor recreational precinct and wellness centre with a lagoon-style pool, outdoor yoga and indoor Pilates’ studio. The site will also house an origami-inspired pavilion, set atop the resort’s highest point to capture 180-degree views across the coastline. Homeowners will be able to soak in the panoramic views from a viewing deck, catch some rays from the sun deck or enjoy the performance and drama space and open-air amphitheatre.

Location offers best of both worlds

Skirted by natural bushland, with breathtaking coastal views, GemLife Gold Coast will be a tranquil oasis a stone’s throw away from all the famously vibrant region has to offer. Whether it’s a night out on the town, a shopping trip in the city, relaxing day on the beach, golf or an adventure in the mountains, the best of the Gold Coast is on your doorstep. “Being in the growth corridor area between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, it gives homeowners the best of both worlds, especially for people with family and friends based in each location. It puts the relaxed, laidback lifestyle of the Gold Coast and the buzz and excitement of Brisbane in convenient reach,” Adrian says. Close to shopping, cafes, restaurants, public transport, sporting and medical facilities, the Gold Coast city centre is just 20-30 minutes away and Brisbane only 40 minutes.

Stylish, modern homes

Beautiful and supremely functional, GemLife Gold Coast’s meticulously designed, six-star energy rated homes are created with high-end, low-maintenance living in mind. Modern, sleek and stylish, the resort’s homes feature open-plan, indoor/outdoor living to take advantage of the Gold Coast’s subtropical climate. “GemLife homes offer unrivalled levels of customisation, including multiple colour-scheme and façade options, as well as a generous, thoughtfully considered suite of premium standard inclusions,” Adrian says. Stage One is currently selling, with 11 different home designs. Two-bedroom or two-bedrooms plus multipurpose room options gives homeowners flexibility to create a space that suits their lifestyle, whether that be a third bedroom for guests, a study or something else. The homes all feature ultra-high ceilings, a designer kitchen with butler’s pantry, top-of-the-range cooking appliances and dishwasher, two bathrooms, ducted heating and cooling, alfresco areas, two-car garages and more.
