Following the festive season, which was not very festive for some, the vibrant chords of optimism are set to be unleashed as the Gold Coast’s newly formed Hops and Harmony bring a positive spin and symbol of hope to those Gold Coasters who have had a rough start to 2024. Promising a night of sheer joy, singing maestro and founder of H&H, JVMIE (Jamie Lee Wilson), will take centre stage at Hound and Stag on Thursday, January 18th leading the audience in a dynamic, Aussie sing along to demonstrate our community spirit and resilience.

Embarking on the second year of her brainchild venture, Hops and Harmony, Jamie Lee Wilson’s musical prowess has evolved into a beacon of inclusivity, transforming audiences from mere observers into active participants. The palpable positive impact of this musical movement has reverberated far and wide.

Returning to her roots on the Gold Coast following a six-year part-time residency in LA, where she collaborated with Grammy-winning DJs and shared stages with icons like David Guetta, Kelly Rowland, and Salt n Pepa, Jamie came home again and has found her earnest heart on Tamborine Mountain. In 2023, she created Hops and Harmony as a monthly community event, and the response has quickly seen the concept spread throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with popular venue Hound and Stag the latest partnership for the Hops and Harmony brand.

Jamie shares, “Our first event on 18th January is destined to be truly extraordinary. Having witnessed the aftermath of the Christmas storms in our own Tamborine Mountain community, we understand the yearning for joy and spirit. Even if just for one night, we aim to make it happen. Moreover, we are dedicating the night to raise funds for storm effected residents in the community.”

Joining Jamie on the night will be Russel ‘Rusty’ Smith on didgeridoo. In addition to playing with Paul Kelly, Archie Roach, Guy Sebastian, and Tommy Emmanuel (just to name a few!) Rusty was the Founder of one of Australia’s most prolific indigenous brands, The Brolga Boys. On guitar will be Forbes Mckail, who has performed all over the world and most notably with Evanescence.

Hops and Harmony has earned a reputation for curating a haven where diverse souls come together, often unaware of the pure joy of singing aloud with a group of strangers can bring.

Jamie’s stellar achievements on global charts and prestigious awards are listed below but witnessing the transformative power of music in bringing strangers together remains her most cherished career milestone.

Tickets for Hops and Harmony special Mount Tamborine tribute event are just $20, and a raffle will be running on the night to raise money to get our local community back on its feet. Join us on this exceptional night, where music becomes the catalyst for joy and community resilience.
