It’s official. Iconic restaurant, Tamborine Mountain’s Songbirds, is now the highest-ranking restaurant on the Gold Coast dining scene.
Securing two Hats, awarded by industry bible, the Australian Good Food Guide in just 6 month of re-opening is a great achievement.
Songbirds is a seven-time winner of the prestigious Australian Good Food & Travel Guide Hat Award, this time around it is officially ranked as one of the top five restaurants in Queensland.
Head Chef, Meyjitte Boughenout, himself a Michelin Star recipient, said the two new Hats reflected a commitment to excellence of the new ownership since purchasing the restaurant six months ago.
“Songbirds has always been an institution, but we dedicated to taking it even higher.
“We are inspired to make Songbirds even greater, with our commitment to the paddock to plate philosophy that utilises local produce from the Mountain and sources up to 70% of the menu’s fruit and vegetables from our on-site garden.
“We are of course delighted with this recognition, but we will not rest on our laurels. We have a number of exciting initiatives to implement through 2020 which will broaden our offering to the community.
Restaurant manager, Alex Menzies is thrilled and humbled to have received this recognition just six months after opening, but knows there’s still a long road ahead to achieve the restaurants goals.
“But we will not rest, this makes us hungry for more success and to continue to deliver the very best cuisine and dining experience for our very special guests.
Songbirds offers à la carte lunch dining Thursday to Sunday, with dinner Thursday to Saturday including a la carte and degustation menu. Private dining, including a special 15-course chef’s degustation menu, is available by request.
