International Women’s Day – GC Libraries event

Gold Coast Libraries celebrated International Women’s Day in style with 400 Gold Coasters last Wednesday night with a signature event, Women who Write.

The power of storytelling, women writers and sharing stories was the theme for the evening.

The evening soiree kicked off with Bridgerton style musical entertainment from Angel Strings, while enjoying a Mr Consistent cocktail and canapes on arrival.

Guests were then inspired by the panel of some of Australia’s best storytellers and authors – Holly Wainwright, Dinuka McKenzie and singer and songwriter Dami Im, in conversation with local storyteller and journalist and ABC Gold Coast radio host Nicole Dyer.

The evening was a fantastic celebration of women who share their stories, and the connection, perspective and different experiences they offer.
