I’m Every Woman – Women’s Community Shelters on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 2020

WORDS: PHOTOGRAPHY

THE PROJECT
2020 has been an incredibly tough year for almost everyone. Australia has seen an increase in Family Violence during this pandemic with many women and children having access to even more limited options to flee violent homes. In fact, on average 56,000 women are homeless each night in Australia. And alarmingly, 34 women have been killed by a partner or former partner so far this year.

So, Australia’s leading boutique talent agency, JEEP MANAGEMENT has rallied some of our most talented artists to create something beautiful.

This clip showcases the talent of some of the country’s most incredible singers and musical theatre performers as well as first class hair and make-up artists, fashion labels and jewellery designers, whilst at the same time raising awareness about this issue and directing donations to a wonderful charity who is doing brilliant work in the domestic violence sector; Women Community Shelters.

THE CHARITY
Women’s Community Shelters provide short term emergency accommodation and support in a safe environment for women and their children who find themselves homeless as a result of fleeing violence. These shelters not only house women and kids, as a short-term solution, but assist women to rebuild self- esteem and achieve control and fulfilment of their lives. Many stay for up to 3 months. THE VISION
Jeep has created a music clip, utilising 13 outstanding female vocalists, performing the iconic Chaka Khan/Whitney Houston song ‘I’m Every Woman’.  The artists have been impeccably styled, directed, shot, recorded and mixed professionally by Gigpiglet Productions. Think Divas on stage, in Oscar-worthy looks performing around an old-school mic. The content was shot on 15th November at Sydney’s The Vanguard theatre in Newton. The final piece will be posted online on 25th November which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
