I started investigating my son’s peanut allergy and ended up creating a nationally recognised, award winning skincare brand

Australian Mum and former Royal Australian Air Force civil engineer, Cherie-Ann Borghouts knows the power of precision and detail.

She has used these skills to create Indira Organics, an artisan skincare brand that is now rivalling household names including Nude by Nature and Weleda.

Her passion for organic skincare was ignited when Cherie-Ann’s youngest son was diagnosed with a severe peanut allergy.

“For me, I was desperate to understand how his allergy came to be, and I discovered a link between toxins and allergies,” Ms Borghouts said.

“At that point I decided to live a cleaner lifestyle and switch to organic products wherever possible.”

A lover of skincare, Cherie-Ann couldn’t find an organic skincare range that met her needs, so with some prompting from her husband, decided to take matters into her own hands.

“I retrained as a cosmetic formulator, grew my business knowledge and in 2019 we officially launched Indira Organics,” she said.

“I’m incredibly driven to help people discover their best skin naturally and make skincare not only a part of health and grooming, but a truly luxurious experience.”

Indira Organics has just been announced as an award winner in three separate categories of the Clean and Conscious Awards 2024. They are stocked in a range of brick and mortar stores and beauty salons nationwide.

“We are thrilled to announce we have just received awards alongside brands like Jurlique, Nude by Nature and INIKA which is just incredible from our humble beginnings. It is such an honour,” Ms Borghouts said.

“I want women to see that if you follow your passion, anything is possible, including creating a successful business that brings you joy and financially supports you and your family.”

Indira Organics features a range of organic skincare products that aim to provide strategies for every skin type.

All products are crafted from scratch in small batches with a sustainable focus.

“Behind the scenes, we strive for innovation wherever possible. We incorporate the finest quality botanical ingredients within each of our unique formulas and package our products using exceptional quality miron glass for its efficacy and opulent feel.”

Cherie-Ann is also a qualified perfumist, with each product showcasing a unique scent profile to ground and evoke the senses.

While the range features powerful active ingredients, it has been designed to be highly nourishing to restore optimal skin health.
