Nature scrolling at Binna Burra with Dr Paula Peeters

Explore how nature scrolls can be used to record your responses to a short walk at Binna Burra.

You will learn:

• about the plants, animals and fungi of the rainforest, forest ecology
• how to record your responses using words, drawings and other marks
• journaling techniques

You will create:

• one or more nature scrolls of your encounters at Binna Burra

Bring:

• A reusable cup with lid and a bag for art materials.
• Dress to undertake a short (about 3 km) walk in the forest water bottle, hat, sunscreen; folding chair or a mat.

Supplied:

• Materials will be provided with scrolls of watercolour paper, and materials to create your own unique nature scroll.

Participants will be using art techniques to respond to nature at Binna Burra.

Things to note:

• Lunch not included, BYO or purchase from the Tea House
• Group size: 10 - 25
• Audience: 10 yo and over, kids under 15 to be accompanied by an adult.
• Includes materials and morning tea

Your facilitator: Paula Peeters is an ecologist, artist and writer, and will give guidance on the nature of Binna Burra, as well as nature journaling techniques. Paula is a scientist who will also give insights into the ecology and evolution of the biota of this place. www.paperbarkwriter.com
