Ben Hall Joins Samantha Jade in PRETTY WOMAN: The Musical — Premiering at QPAC This October

I was thrilled to share the breaking news — and yes, l was among the first to be invited to share it! In an exclusive one-on-one chat, I spoke with the incredibly talented Ben Hall, who will be stepping into the role of Edward Lewis in the Australian production of PRETTY WOMAN: The Musical.

Hall joins Samantha Jade, who takes on the iconic role of Vivian — and together, they are set to be one of the hottest tickets in town when the show debuts this October at QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre) in Brisbane, before heading to Theatre Royal, Sydney from November.

Based on the beloved 1990 film, PRETTY WOMAN: The Musical has already dazzled audiences on Broadway and London’s West End — and now, Aussie theatre lovers are in for a treat with this spectacular homegrown production.

With a blazing score by GRAMMY® Award winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and direction by Tony Award® winner Jerry Mitchell, this is a romantic comedy musical experience not to be missed.

Producer Suzanne Jones of JONES Theatrical Group spoke highly of Hall, saying:

“Ben certainly has the charm, charisma and talent to step into the role that made Richard Gere so recognisable around the world. When we first heard him sing at the auditions though, we knew that Australian audiences would instantly be besotted by him.”

Ben Hall, a Perth native and WAAPA graduate, is best known for his role as Ned Willis on Neighbours and his upcoming appearance in The Mongoose alongside Liam Neeson.

His theatre credits include Les Misérables, Only Heaven Knows, and most recently, Elvis: A Musical Revolution as Sam Phillips. On screen, Hall has starred in acclaimed Australian series including Love Child, Brock, Total Control, and Warnie, where he played Mark Waugh.

Joining him on stage, Samantha Jade continues to shine since her breakthrough win on X Factor Australia in 2012.

With a #2 ARIA-charting album, tours alongside One Direction and Westlife, TV appearances in Home & Away and as Kylie Minogue in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, and a runner-up finish on Dancing With The Stars 2024, Jade is a powerhouse performer whose charm and voice are made for the role of Vivian.

PRETTY WOMAN: The Musical invites audiences to fall in love all over again with the modern fairy tale of Vivian and Edward. Set in the late ’80s and packed with dazzling visuals, soaring songs, and a story that warms the heart, this production promises to light up Brisbane and Sydney stages this spring.
