WORDS: Saint Model Management PHOTOGRAPHY Saint Model Management

  1.    How long you been modelling for and where were you scouted?

I’ve been modelling for 2 and a half years now, I started back when Mandy ( Saint model management ) asked if I could meet her in the Gold Coast so I booked a flight asap & the rest is history.

  1.    Where are you from and your background?

I was born in England, but my heritage is a mix. My mother is Jamaican & my Dad Scottish, hence the curls and tanned skin!

  1.    Favourite thing about your home city?

My favourite thing about my home city would be the extreme diversity in culture. I grew up alongside many different nationality’s which came from hearing a lot about different parts of the world. Which I believe is how I knew from a young age I wanted to travel everywhere!

  1.    What your favourite go-to exercises for working out?

For the last 4 years now, I have been heavily into calisthenics! The majority of my workouts don’t require any equipment, therefore I can do it anywhere & when on the go. I like to have a fitness routine for myself that I have 0 excuse not to do as it requires only my bodyweight. Press ups, sit ups, pistol squats, pull ups can be done at a local park!

  1.    Favourite go-to healthy meal?

My favourite healthy meal is always Jerk chicken , white rice, pumpkin, sweet potato & avocado. I learnt to cook from a young age & I mix up my meals a lot but this one is a staple.

  1.    Healthy morning ritual that you follow to start your day on a positive note?

First thing as I get up, is to simply make my bed. I think the simple discipline of that, leads into the rest of the day. Followed by a 10 minute stretch & I never fail to have eggs in the morning. For me personally I need a solid breakfast to start my day.

  1.    What do you love about modelling?

The best part for me about Modelling, is the people I get to meet. Getting to see what people can create with their mood boards & visions is amazing. It is a blessing to get to be a part of it. Being able to wake up and enjoy what you do is a luxury so I never take it for granted.

  1.    What has been your favourite jobs

I think one of my favourite jobs has been the King Living Campaign I did, as I got to bring out a lot of my personality and talents with that particular job. They got me to dance a lot during shooting which I taught myself how to street dance from a young age. Being able to bring that element to a job I absolutely loved.

  1.    You have worked internationally – what has bene your favourite place to travel for work?

Shooting in Bali was an amazing experience. Knowing that travelling for work is out there in this industry makes it extra exciting. To get to see and experience new places is what life is all about.

  1. Tips for any upcoming models?

Thick skin. Persistence. No is the most common word you’ll hear in this industry so you better get use to it & not be afraid of it.

Most people only see what I have done & currently am doing. You don’t realise I got rejected 42 times before starting, yes 42. Before being signed. You have to really want it & try everything from open castings to walk ins to DMs to emailing agencies. Just because one person doesn’t see your potential doesn’t mean it’s not there. Never quit.
