John-Paul Langbroek is a long-term Gold Coast local who attended Burleigh Heads State School with his sister, Kate Langbroek, a well-known broadcaster currently seen on The Project. His daughter, Bronte, is a presenter on Sea FM’s breakfast show, Bronte and Lakey.

A dedicated and experienced politician, John-Paul has served the people of Surfers Paradise since his election in 2004. He ran for Parliament to advocate for the people of Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast, focusing on community safety and local services.

John-Paul was the 33rd Queensland Leader of the Opposition and served as the Education Minister in the LNP Government before the 2015 election. He currently serves as the Shadow Minister for Seniors, Communities and Disability Services, Multiculturalism, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships for the LNP.

Before entering politics, he was a dental surgeon who ran his own practices in Surfers Paradise and Ashmore. Married to Stacey, and a father of three, John-Paul has a passion for sports and enjoys sharing moments of his life on Instagram.

His commitment to his community and his diverse experience in both professional and political fields highlight his dedication to public service.
