Southport’s evolution into one of the Gold Coast’s most connected and liveable urban precincts is gathering pace, with the official launch of Maris, a $200 million boutique apartment development from leading international developer MRCB International.
Perfectly positioned to take advantage of Southport’s reinvention, Maris is already striking a chord with buyers. Ahead of its launch, the project recorded more than 50 per cent of residences sold, underscoring the appetite for high-quality, lifestyle-oriented apartments in walkable, amenity-rich neighbourhoods.
Rising 20 storeys and designed by acclaimed practice Plus Architecture, Maris will deliver 192 one- and two-bedroom residences, with flexible floorplans allowing for the creation of expansive three-bedroom layouts. Apartments have been thoughtfully crafted to embrace light, space and liveability, reflecting the lifestyle of modern coastal buyers.

MRCB International CEO Ravi Krishnan said the early sales success highlights renewed confidence in Southport’s long-term prospects.
“Buyers are recognising the value in Southport and the opportunity to secure design-forward apartments in walkable, connected neighbourhoods,” said Mr Krishnan.
“Maris reflects a new era of living in Southport – well-designed, well-connected, and perfectly aligned with the Gold Coast’s relaxed lifestyle.”
Located just footsteps from the Broadwater Parklands light rail station, and within easy reach of Australia Fair, major dining precincts, and the proposed 2032 Olympic arena at Carey Park, Maris will place residents in the heart of one of the city’s most exciting growth areas.
The development will offer an enviable suite of private amenities, including a rooftop yoga and dining terrace with panoramic views, a resort-style podium-level pool, a gym, sauna, and a beautifully appointed resident lounge designed for connection and community.
With demolition of the former Sundale Motel site now complete, the Maris site is ready for its next chapter. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, with completion expected by 2027.

Momentum has been strong from the outset. According to recent research by Urbis, Maris was the top-selling new apartment development on the Gold Coast during the March quarter, accounting for 80 of the 209 new apartment sales city-wide.
The launch of Maris represents the next chapter in MRCB International’s growing Gold Coast portfolio, building on the success of its flagship project, 26 Vista in Surfers Paradise, one of the fastest-selling luxury towers in the region during 2023 and 2024.
With upper-level residences yet to be released, and construction approaching, interest is expected to build further, particularly among interstate buyers and downsizers seeking elevated living in a central, connected and walkable lifestyle precinct.
The Maris Sales Display is now open at Q1 Retail, 3011 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise, QLD.
