Green Cauldron Panorama Artwork opening

Tweed artists, politicians and businesspeople gathered at the Murwillumbah Visitor Information Centre this week for the official ‘opening’ of the Green Cauldron Panorama. Funded by Tweed Shire Council and supported by Destination Tweed, the 360° artwork depicts the view from the summit of Wollumbin Mount Warning. It took renowned landscape artist Andy Reimanis and a team of fellow local artists 12 months to complete and stretches over 20 metres. It is now on permanent display in the Visitor Information Centre.

JUGGLING INTERNATIONAL STREET ENTERTAINMENT IN PARADISE AS ENTRIES OPEN FOR FESTIVAL

ROLL on up folks - the streets of Surfers Paradise will morph into a sea of chainsaw jugglers, fire-breathers, acrobats, artists, magicians and musicians for the annual Australian Street Entertainment Championships.

This international street performance festival will showcase performers from around the globe as they backflip, spin and breakdance their way to Surfers Paradise to compete for the coveted title and cash prizes.

A spectacular spoke in the 2012 Surfers Paradise Festival wheel, the street entertainment will welcome more than 50,000 people to the precinct from June 29 to July 1.

In short Kim is a fisherman's daughter who first found international fame when she started running a shark patrol on the Queensland coast. She went on to become one of the first females to compete against males in the world's biggest surf in Hawaii. 25 years later, she's still making a living in a competitive environment dominated by men - the multimillion dollar spanner crab industry.

Sanctuary Cove presents “Cocktails and Canvas”

Sanctuary Cove is delighted to present the first Cocktails and Canvas evening, hosted by The Rotary Club of Hope Island. This unique event will showcase artworks in a fabulous cocktail party setting, with proceeds funding a very worthy cause.

A range of artworks will be on display and for sale on the weekend of 3rd – 4th March and the Cocktails and Canvas event, held on Friday 2nd March at 7.30pm, will give art enthusiasts exclusive access before the exhibition opens. This is a rare opportunity to view and purchase these desirable artworks before the display is opened to the public.
